LONG WALK
TO BE HEARD
November 8 to 12th, 2026
Frustrated by the lack of response from elected federal officials, Kathleen and Kristin from ALTNO/United Against Alto will be completing a five-day trek across Prescott Russell. Called the ‘LONG WALK TO BE HEARD’, the journey will start on November 8th and finish in Ottawa onThursday November 12th.
The pair will be hiking 25-30 kms most days, starting at the St-Eugène Pavilion, East Hawkesbury and traversing the length of the Prescott and Russell Recreational Trail to the west 'end point' at Anderson Road, then through Eastway Gardens and culminating at a designated spot in Ottawa to present a special petition.
Join Kathleen and Kristin on all or part of the journey.
Follow our journey here.
Full details of daily routes and stops are below. Even if you won't be walking with us, we would love to see you at the break points to join in the conversation and to sign our latest petition. Please note that routes and distances travelled each day may be subject to weather conditions.
* Participation is at your own risk.
**You will need to arrange your own transport to your start and a ride from your finishing point. We will not be overnighting on the trail.
